Some are Starbuck’s sons, and others are from unrelated bloodlines. In addition to Starbuck and Captain, we also have a number of other outstanding micro-mini herd sires to compliment our small jennies. Starbuck and his son Captain have nice conformation and throw wonderful small foals. “ Sunny G’s Starbuck” and Sunny G’s Captain are both only 25.5″ tall, making them less than 1/4″ taller than the Guinness World Record’s shortest registered Miniature Donkey. Sunny G’s Starbuck 25 1/2″ – Click to view his profile In our breeding program, we strive to raise miniature donkeys and micro-mini donkeys with great conformation, extended pedigrees, wonderful dispositions, as well as small sizes and in a variety of colors. Hoof trimming is done on an as needed basis. All donkeys are kept up to date on vaccinations and deworming. Many of our donkeys are DNA typed as well. Our donkeys are all microchipped for identification purposes. We do our best to give each and every donkey the love, care, and training that makes them happy, well mannered, and socialized, so they can provide a lifetime of enjoyment. We are there for almost every birth and imprint all our foals. Our donkeys are handled daily and given LOTS of TLC from the day they’re born! We give our jennies time off between foals therefore we only have a limited number of babies for sale each year. Anyone who’s been around miniature donkeys knows how sweet and loveable they are. The work, of which Tiny Tim plays an active role in, includes a variety of programmes, supporting vulnerable young people and adults throughout the community.**** February 2021 Update: We have found that someone has illegally posted donkeys for sale on Facebook using some of our donkeys photos and information. The charity’s donkey-assisted therapy work has also been temporarily halted. With a fluffy white blaze, and white spots on his rear, Tim is inquisitive, very active, and can always be found at the front of the queue for extra enrichment. Nine-year old Tiny Tim is one of the centre’s two Adoption donkeys and has long been a favourite with the Manchester team. With the centre currently closed to visitors and non-donkey facing staff, the dedicated equine team are making sure their herd continue to receive the highest level of care, providing them with plenty of exercise and enrichment opportunities to keep them mentally stimulated. Among them were Tiny Tim, whom they pictured soaking up the warm sunshine, and rolling in the centre’s sand arena. The Donkey Sanctuary in Abbey Hey is home to 17 donkeys, and staff were able to take some images of its residents making the most of the seasonal weather. Staff at an animal welfare charity in Manchester captured some delightful photographs of its resident donkeys basking in the spring sunshine this week.
